My zip has been salvaged from a child’s coat; fabric remnants made into my lining and side panel frills; my internal pockets and strap secures recycled and my loops have been rescued from and old belt. The beads on my side came from a broken bracelet. Inside, the ribbon and beaded safety pin has also been saved from unwanted, broken items. Various pairs of jeans’ inside leg seams, together with extra fabric remnants have been converted to make my straps.
I have been made using a mix of machine and hand sewing. Piping was made to frame my outer edges before my two-tone side panels were inserted.
The only part of me which isn’t recycled is the cotton used to bind me.
Dimensions: Approximately 24cm wide x 19cm deep x 22cm tall.
