About Bamboo Fibre
Why choose clothing made from bamboo fibre?
Sustainable (Eco-Friendly)
- Bamboo is the most sustainable of all the natural fibres used to make clothes. It is naturally organic and takes in 35% more CO2 than other equivalent stands of plants, and releases the same in oxygen.
- Bamboo is a grass and therefore reproduces without replanting and is completely rain-fed. It is the fastest growing plant in the world.
- Its yield is 10 times that of cotton, without using any fertilizers or pesticides. Additionally, even organic cotton uses a huge amount of water for growing, whereas bamboo grows without any irrigation, often on hill slopes where nothing else can be grown.
- Panda-friendly: The bamboo plant used for making clothing is a different variety to the one Panda's like to munch on.
Body-Friendly
- Bamboo owns a unique antimicrobial bio-agent called "bamboo kun." Textiles made of bamboo have natural antibacterial, antifungal and odour resistant properties even after multiple washings. Cotton does not.
- Bamboo is thermo-regulating. Tests show bamboo clothes are 1-2 degrees cooler than cotton.
- The fabric has natural moisture-wicking properties and draws perspiration away from your skin, allowing it to breathe.
- Clothes made from bamboo fibre are hypoallergenic and feel luxurious next to your skin.
