This beautiful and functional item was originally designed by an unknown celtic craftsman several thousand years ago. It is with some pride that I recreate it for today. The pin is 6 inches ( 15cm) long and the metal part is 3 inches. Made from German Silver. The pin is a repurposed chop stick. The loopy bits on each side have some "spring" in them that effectively grips the hair .
This Item makes an effective shawl pin with knitted or chrochet shawls
