Drum and maraca combo

Want to make music ? Well this is it with a combined drum and maraca. Made from a gourd with leather strapped at one end for the beat of the drum. A stick accompanies. A butterfly and floral design embellishes the gourd come maraca. Approximately 23 cms in length, but as every instrument is handmade, hence it is also unique. So sizes do vary.
Purchased from CIAP ( La Central Interregional de Artesanos del Peru) a fair trade organisation in Peru. The craft work gives employment to the most vulnerable communities' people allowing them to feed and educate their children as well as improving their living conditions.
