The term "Ethikl" or "us" or "we" refers to the owner of the Site, Ethikl, The term "you" refers to the user or viewer of our Site.

Ethikl is a Venue

Ethikl is a venue for independently-owned artisanal ethical businesses. An artisanal business is defined as a business that makes or intends to make a substantial portion of its income from specialty products created in small quantities, often using traditional, time-consuming, or handcraft techniques. Artisanal products are not mass produced, nor are they mass distributed and are always made ethically.

Ethikl provides a marketplace for Merchants to sell Products to Buyers. By using the Site, you agree and acknowledge that the Site is simply a venue for Merchants and Buyers to transact business. Ethikl has no control over the quality, safety, legality, integrity, accuracy or any other aspect of the Products, the Product listings, the purchase or delivery of the Products, or any other element of any Transaction. Ethikl does not transfer legal ownership of Products from a Merchant to a Buyer. Ethikl does not promise to screen or investigate its Merchants or Buyers and cannot ensure that Merchants or Buyers will act in a legal or ethical manner or will complete the Transaction, although Ethikl will take every precaution to ensure the highest standards possible are met.

Membership

We expect all members of Ethikl to treat each other with respect and kindness (including Ethikl's staff). Remember that behind every username is a real person with feelings. Your username on Ethikl is your identity. You are responsible for your conduct and all content submitted under your username on Ethikl.

- You may not use profane or racist language or images in your username, avatar and/or public profile.

- An Ethikl account cannot be used for the sole purpose of redirecting traffic to another web location, even if it is another Ethikl account. Please contact Support to have your account closed if you are no longer using it.

- Keep your account information updated and accurate. Your account must have a valid email address at all times. Ethikl will use the email address on file in your account information to contact you when necessary.

- Ethikl encourages all members to resolve their own disputes. As a venue, Ethikl cannot mediate disputes between members or other parties.

- Breaking any of Ethikl's policies may result in suspension of account privileges and/or account termination. This includes all of your accounts by virtue of association. In other words, Ethikl reserves the right to suspend the use of the site for a person and all username(s) he/she operates under.

- All merchants are subject to approval by Ethikl.

Products Allowed

It is a strict condition that all product listed on the Ethikl Wesite are ethically made including, but not limited to, organic, fairtrade, natural, Fair Trade, handmade or sustainable. If for any reason, Ethikl believed your products are not ethically made, we reserve the right to remove the listing without notice.

Buyer Information

Making a Purchase

To buy items, you'll need to create an Ethikl account (it's free and easy). Our feedback system relies on being able to identify the parties involved in every transaction. Your username is the unique identifier which makes this possible. You purchase items on Ethikl   using whatever payment method you specify when checking out.

How do I pay for items?

Please note that if you purchase items from multiple shops, each shop must be paid individually as each shop is located in a different locations and requires seperate postage from that location.

Ethikl's role is to connect the Buyer and the Merchant; we are a venue, not a retailer. This means when you place an order on Ethikl, you are entering into a direct transaction and personal relationship with an individual Merchant (facilitated by Ethikl).

Receiving Items

We deliver products worldwide wide using various shipping methods nominated by teh artisan. Shipping costs are influenced by the size and weight of the product and their location, exact shipping costs are calculated in the shopping cart and will be added to the order total before checkout. Orders are dispatched within 2 business days and shipping times are estimated at between 3-7 business days depending on your location. If for any reason we are unable to dispatch your order we will notify you within 2 business days.

How do I get a Refund?

Because you buy direct from each merchant, each merchant may have different policies. Be sure to read the merchant’s policies. The funds will be deposited back in your credit card account. If you are not satisfied with a product once you receive it, you can return it to the Merchant within 10 days, unused and in a saleable condition with the original packaging, and we will refund your money (the buyer pays for all shipping costs). However, please contact us first to advise that you are returning the product.

Should you believe the product is faulty, please contact us immediately to discuss the best course of action. Please do not return products without first contacting us.

Responsibilities of the Seller

It is the responsibility of the seller to ensure that all product images and descriptions are correct and up to date. It is the responsibility of the seller to ensure that any products listed are available for sale and dispatch to a customer. It is the responsibility of the seller to ensure that products purchased are dispatched to the customer, and in a reasonable timeframe as outlined by the seller’s Shipping Policy. It is the responsibility of the seller to communicate directly with the buyer should they have any questions or issues

The Site may contain links to web sites controlled, owned, and operated by third parties (the "third-party sites"). Ethikl cannot control and has no responsibility for the accuracy or availability of information provided on the third-party sites. You acknowledge that use of any third-party sites is governed by the terms of use for those websites, and not by this Agreement. Links to third-party sites do not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Ethikl of such sites or the content, products, advertising or other materials presented on such sites, but are only for your convenience and you access them at your own risk. Such third-party sites may have a privacy policy different from that of Ethikl and the third-party site may provide less security than this Site. We are not responsible for the content of any third-party web sites, nor do we make any warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the content (or the accuracy of such content) on any third-party web sites, and Ethikl shall have no liability of any nature whatsoever for any failure of products or services offered or advertised at such sites or otherwise.

Termination

You agree that Ethikl may, with or without cause, immediately terminate your Ethikl account and access to the Ethikl Service without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, the following will lead to a termination by Ethikl of a user's use of the Ethikl Service (a) breaches or violations of this Terms of Use or other incorporated agreements or guidelines, (b) requests by law enforcement or other government agencies, (c) a request by you (self-initiated account deletions), (d) unexpected technical issues or problems. Termination of your Ethikl account includes removal of access to all offerings within the Ethikl Service and may also bar you from further use of the Ethikl Service. Furthermore, you agree that all terminations shall be made in Ethikl's sole discretion and that Ethikl shall not be liable to you nor any third-party for any termination of your account or access to the Ethikl Service. You further agree that you will not: (i) submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant Ethikl all of the license rights granted herein; (ii) submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate; (iii) post advertisements or solicitations of business: (iv) impersonate another person.

Ethikl is dedicated to keeping your details private. Any information, we collect in relation to you, is kept strictly secured. We do not pass on/sell/swap any of your personal details with anyone. We use this information to identify your orders, provide you with our newsletter and to personalise your shopping experience with us; that's all. Ethikl uses cookies to allow you to login to your account, maintain a shopping cart and to purchase items in your shopping cart. Cookies sent to your computer from Ethikl only last while you're browsing our website. We do not store persistent cookies on your computer. Cookies also allow us to give you a more personalised shopping experience by displaying products that interest you throughout our product pages, thus providing you with a more friendly, interesting and enjoyable shopping experience.
