From Amani Ya Juu (Kiswahili for "higher peace"), featuring hand-dyed and printed 100% cotton fabrics. Each purse is 15cm wide and 12cm high and is fully lined with a colour that complements the outside fabric. These purses have been stitched by Milly (Kenya), Immaculee (Kenya), Monique (Congo) and Viviane (Rwanda). Also available in this range - The Urban Safari Tote. Amani Ya Juu is a training project for African women who have been affected by war and ethnic conflicts. Founded in 1996, the project works on 2 levels; firstly to give African women an opportunity to improve their sewing and marketing skills in order that they may be able to provide for the needs of their families and secondly, to sew seeds of peace into the hearts of the women through Bible study and prayer.
