One Colour
Can you recall a time when a thought, an idea or a piece of information made you draw breath - either in amazement or horror or disbelief? For us, the seed for One Colour was planted the moment the extent of global poverty was realised. That "the poor" were people with names, families, lives, hopes. With this realisation, doing nothing was no longer an option.

The launch of the clothing label, Edun, in 2005 proved to be another significant turning point for One Colour. Through Edun, the founders wanted to develop trade with Africa and to encourage other fashion brands to do the same. From that time on One Colour developed into something beyond an idea.

The following year provided the opportunity to explore how sustainable trade, fashion, Africa, the individual and justice for the poor might combine. It is also grounded in a personal belief that God has already extended His mercy and grace in Jesus Christ.

As One Colour has evolved, the aim has remained unchanged. The focus is on the people who make what we give, use and wear and to trade sustainably and ethically with whoever and wherever we find ourselves.

In truth, though, buying ethically sourced or fair trade goods isn’t going to put a stop to world poverty, but as individuals, and collectively, we can connect with and support men and women in developing countries who now have the opportunity to align themselves with a fairer way of doing business.

Be compassionate, be informed, make wise choices.
